Competitive program for young men under 18 as
of January 1, 2009 and a USGA handicap not exceeding 4, USJT Family
Member Program is available.
U.S. Junior Tours Golf Experience is an
American based first class educational and athletic travel program
for golfers ages 10-18 that provides worldwide experiences including
professional instruction, international competition, and cultural
activities. Golfers from all countries are welcome and encouraged to
apply.
Tournament format:
Monday, August 3, practice round on Eden
Course Tuesday, August 4, qualifying round on Eden Course
32 low scratch scores qualify for scratch
match play on the Eden Course, Wednesday, August 5, and on the Old
Course Thursday, August 6, and Friday, August 7, for the Merchant's
Cup and title of St. Andrews Links 2009 Boys' Open Champion.
16 low handicap scores failing to qualify
compete in handicap match play on the Eden Course Wednesday, August
5, and on the Old Course Thursday, August 6, and Friday, August
7,
for the Murray Mitchell Trophy.
Remaining non-qualifiers compete in a handicap
Stableford competition on the Strathtyrum Course Wednesday, August 5
for the David Aynton Cup.
