LA CROSSE, Wis. - USJT Golf Travel (USJT) will
again take college and university golf teams and
individual team members to the birthplace of golf in
2008. The 2008 schedule, announced today, includes
two "Birthplace of Golf" programs to St.
Andrews,
Scotland and three new "Scottish Competitive
Programs"
for college age players looking to hone their
competitive golf skills.
The Birthplace of Golf Programs are
scheduled for
June 17-26 and July 14-23. Both programs will feature
instruction by top Scottish Professional Golf
Association (PGA) instructors, play on fantastic links
courses, and cultural immersion opportunities.
USJT will also offer competition only options in
conjunction with the tours. The St. Andrews Links
Junior Ladies Open Tournament Program will run
July
31 to August 9, the Strathtyrum (women)
Tournament
and the Eden (men) Tournament
Programs will run
August 7-16.
"The Birthplace of Golf is our most popular program,"
said USJT Executive Director M. Scott Ott, noting that
the 2007 program sold out in just two months.
College and university golf teams that are not able to
travel during scheduled programs may arrange
alternate custom dates and destinations with USJT
Golf Travel.
"We are very happy to assist teams in creating custom
golf programs that can include a variety of courses,
destinations, and activities, all they have to do is
contact our office," added Ott.
The USJT Family Member Program is available for
non-golfing family members, friends, alumni, and
boosters etc. that wish to travel.
